The word “Hatha” is an umbrella term
for any physical practice that is called yoga. At Karuna Arts Yoga we
offer Viniyoga and Anusara yoga, Gentle Flow Yoga and more.
Viniyoga: In this approach to yoga
practice, postures emphasize balancing the spine and breath awareness.
The term viniyoga translated from Sanskrit means “to adapt.” Adapting
the practice to fit each student's needs is the essence of this
methodology whose roots draw from the teaching of Sri Krishnamacharya.
Let it Flow/
Let it Flow--Strong:
A mindful flowing practice yoking mindfulness, breath and movement
tapping the natural flow of prana on the mat and in your life.
This class will challenge you to deepen strength, flexibility,
coordination, and stamina.
Beginner Yoga: Foundations of yoga practice for beginners or those
wishing to strengthen the basics.
Foundations of Yoga and Meditation:
Beginners are encouraged
to join this class designed to focus on developing a deeper foundation
in this therapeutic yoga and meditation class with Anne.
All Levels Yoga: Designed to strengthen, stretch, and support the spine
first, treat your whole being with this class that will both relax and
challenge with an intelligent, therapeutic approach. Beginner student
options offered.
Senior Yoga: This therapeutic yoga class is designed to support the
needs of senior students 60 years and up.
Chair Yoga:
A therapeutic yoga class done in a chair. This class is intended
for those who are unable to move with ease to/from the floor.
While this class is done in a chair it is not for wimps, we will utilize
various props to deepen the effects of this practice depending on the
unique mix of students attending.
Healthy Bones (and Core!)--Yoga with weights:
Use light weights to deepen the impact of yoga’s weight bearing effects
while deepening your core muscle flexibility and strength.
This class is strong.
Gentle Yoga: Great for those times when you need a softer, more
reflective yoga class.
Gentle Yoga/Yoga Nidra:
Gentle yoga with Yoga Nidra (guided meditation). Deeply relaxing.
Anusara Yoga:
Classical yoga
techniques focused on alignment with the flow of heartfelt joy.
